Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026. These terms govern your use of zKPnote.

1. Your vault is yours

zKPnote is designed so we cannot read your notes. Every note is encrypted on your device with keys derived from your seed phrase or wallet signature before it ever reaches our servers. You are solely responsible for safeguarding your seed phrase. If you lose it and you have not linked an online account, we cannot recover your vault.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). By using zKPnote you represent that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with all applicable laws.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use zKPnote to:

  • store, distribute, or sell content that is illegal in your jurisdiction (including CSAM, stolen credentials, malware, or content infringing third-party rights);
  • harass or defraud other users through the marketplace, shares, or on-chain proofs;
  • reverse-engineer, probe, or stress-test our infrastructure beyond the intended product surface;
  • circumvent the 2% marketplace fee, create duplicate accounts to manipulate listings, or evade bans.

We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. Your local vault is unaffected; server-side mirrors and marketplace listings may be removed.

4. Marketplace

Listings are peer-to-peer transactions settled on-chain. zKPnote is not a party to any trade. We collect a 2% protocol fee via an atomic payment split encoded in the smart contract. All trades are final once the on-chain transaction confirms. We do not mediate disputes between buyers and sellers, but we may remove listings that violate acceptable-use policies.

5. On-chain proofs

"Proving" a note registers a SHA-256 hash of its contents on the Solana blockchain. The hash is derived locally on your device. The on-chain record is permanent and public; only you control when to publish it. We do not charge for proofs beyond the standard Solana network fee.

6. Alpha software

zKPnote is currently on Solana devnet and clearly labelled as alpha. Devnet tokens have no monetary value; devnet listings are for testing. We may reset devnet state, migrate data to mainnet, or change on-chain schemas with reasonable notice. Production launch terms will apply once mainnet is enabled.

7. No warranty

zKPnote is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, zKPnote's total liability arising out of or relating to these terms is limited to the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars. We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential damages.

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be posted on this page and announced on our X/Twitter or in-app. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
